Established for over 40 years the company is a leading global supply chain and logistics solutions provider, implementing warehouse management software for many famous companies worldwide. In line with Indigo’s expansion programme, we have an opening for a Cloud Architect. The Cloud Architect will be a keen technologist and strategic influencer, and will be key to formulating and delivering the overall cloud-first technical strategy for Indigo.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the cultural change of cloud adoption for Indigo
  • Identifying the best cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company
  • Hands on practical investigation, assessment and decision making for cloud/agnostic solutions
  • Defining and ensuring delivery of the platform agnostic/cloud-first architecture
  • Establishing best practices and governance for cloud across the company
  • Ensuring security, privacy and data protection methods/best practices are defined and in place
  • Managing budgets and estimating cost
  • Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
  • Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Offer guidance for infrastructure movement techniques including bulk upload to/from the cloud.
  • Act as the SME on Cloud and related technologies for the project delivery team
  • Strong experience in a multi-disciplined team is critical as is the ability to clearly communicate complex technology solutions.
  • Responsible for producing high level and low-level design documents as well as other technical project related artefacts
  • Involved in the qualification and bid process for new opportunities providing relevant technical input into the process
  • Mentoring and coaching the delivery team to achieve full adoption of the technical strategy

The Cloud Architect should endeavour to champion the values of Indigo at all times, both internally and externally, while complying with the Business Management System and the Staff Handbook.

The Requirements

  • 3-5+ years' experience designing, executing and supporting IT cloud solutions
  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work
  • An in depth understanding of Public/Private/Hybrid Cloud solutions and experienced in integrating public cloud into traditional hosting/delivery models with a specific focus on AWS and Serverless
  • Strong development experience in cloud focused development languages such as Java, Python, Node.js etc.
  • Knowledge of the AWS Well Architected Framework(s)
  • Demonstrable experience in architecting large scale, multi-tenanted cloud solutions
  • Strong knowledge of micro-service architecture and frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate cloud reports to key stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of AGILE enablement through Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery toolsets
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Experience of evaluating/reviewing existing technical and digital strategies
  • Demonstratable experience of cloud security principles (e.g. NCSC) and their adoption
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • History of being responsible for the delivery of significant cloud and automation projects.
  • Experienced senior stakeholder manager
  • Exhibit a proven track record of continually looking for ways to improve
  • Strong knowledge of application, automation, orchestration and Integration architectures
  • Strong communication and collaboration focus​​

Desirables

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field
  • Knowledge of the IBM ISeries architecture/tool sets
  • Relevant cloud certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect
