Prime Responsibility

To provide first class technical assistance as dictated by the stated requirement, through maintaining high standards of customer care and after sales service.

Activities

  • Maintain Indigo’s infrastructure including PC’s, Servers, Firewalls etc.
  • Assist the Technical Manager to deliver internal projects
  • Provide internal and external technical support in line with applicable Service Level Descriptions
  • Maintain accurate manual and electronic records relating to all work carried out and produce relevant documentation where appropriate
  • Provide professional services to customers including, but not limited to:
  • Installation of new software *
  • Configuration of customer hardware *
  • Advice / guidance on the management of technical infrastructure *
  • Delivery of technical education *
  • Provision of technical assistance to consultants, and the customer, during system implementation and roll out *
  • On-site technical support and resolution of issues

       * Service typically furnished remotely

  • Identify any possible problem areas and exceptions, in a timely manner, that will affect any aspect of the technical service and bring them to the prompt attention of the Technical Manager
  • To take additional responsibilities from time to time as designated by the Technical Manager
  • To take initiative in circumstances that are in the interest of the company
  • The IT Engineer should endeavour to champion the values of the company at all times, both internally and externally, while complying with the business management system and the Staff Handbook.

Skills

  • Proficient in the configuration and support of multiple desktop, server and mobile operating systems including Windows, Linux and Android. Any experience with Apple OSX and iOS desirable but not essential
  • Proficient in the configuration and administration of Office365
  • A good understanding of wired and wireless networking technologies
  • Working knowledge of virtualisation technologies
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems with minimal assistance
  • Multi-tasking - be able to manage multiple work streams with varied and changeable priorities
  • Excellent written, and verbal, communication skills
