In line with Indigo’s expansion programme, we have an opening for an experienced New Business Development Manager.

Role & Responsibilities

Splitting your time between working from home/office and the necessity for being on the road, your focus will be to drive new business sales for Indigo’s award-winning Warehouse Management Solution within the Corporate and Enterprise markets.

You will already be an established successful software salesperson able to manage the end-to-end sales cycle and putting the effort in to close deals will be demonstrable.

Whether discussing business process with a warehouse operative or negotiating with directors and CxO level, you will be confident and able to build relationships quickly.

You will be provided with qualified leads, however you will be ambitious; hungry to sell and earn commission, so it’s likely that you will want to do your own research and/or use your contacts to generate new opportunities for yourself.

You might have previous experience of selling into existing accounts, but you will be expected to have a track record of winning new business, as this is the role’s primary focus.

You will be confident hunting new business alone if required, but you will also be able to demonstrate that you are a team player. You will out of necessity work closely with multiple departments not just the extended sales department.

Initially, the scope of your role will be UK, but this could be easily expanded to cover the whole of EMEA and the Americas, as time, targets and experience progresses.

There may be the opportunity to speak at seminars and continue Indigo’s position as a thought-leader in the warehousing space.

You will, from time to time, be asked to attend various events and exhibitions. These may take place across multiple days.


  • You will already know what the inside of a warehouse looks like, probably through visiting many in your current or previous role (essential). However, we would prefer if your Supply Chain experience is from a background in Warehouse or Logistics Management (desirable).
  • 3+ years of achieving against sales targets in the enterprise business software industry; WMS (preferred) and/or ERP or SCP (essential).
  • You will have a strong capability in consultative and solution selling; identifying opportunities, negotiating and closing and articulating Indigo’s value proposition. Recognising when to use these and when to use alternative techniques will be what sets you apart from your competition (essential).
  • Experienced in selling new business into Corporate and Enterprise accounts (desirable)
  • The majority of your selling has been in environments where complexity, highly technical requirements and multi-system integration is the norm (desirable).
  • Ability to sell strategically including communicating Indigo’s compelling value proposition and ROI to prospects (essential).
  • You will be an excellent communicator, both orally and written, tailoring your pitch, dependent upon the role and level of the person you are engaged with (essential).
  • Proactive, self-starter with a results-oriented attitude (essential).
  • Commercially astute and highly numerate, you will be equally at home, negotiating with an FD or CFO, as sat in front of an Excel spreadsheet (essential).

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Home or office-based, with frequent UK travel

Reporting to: Director EMEA and America Sales

Salary: Base £45k, total OTE £80k
