NGK Spark Plugs switch to DHL with Indigo’s support

February 2007 – NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd enlists indigos help to enable them to seamlessly switch from their existing parcel carrier to DHL, in a move which will significantly reduce operating costs to the business, whist ensuring their on time delivery performance is maintained at the current levels.
NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, a brand leader in the UK automotive spark plug market, have been using Indigos software to control their warehouse picking and despatch processes for many years and the tight integration with their current parcel carrier has ensured there is no re-keying of data required.
Eric Carter, Management Consultant at Indigo, comments This level of system integration was a prerequisite in the supplier switch, and while DHL software allows data to be shared between their system and a host Warehouse Management System, the file configuration and system requirements differ in many ways from NGKs existing system. The new software integration cartridge will be installed during October and the switch date is expected during the first week of November.
