Indigo Software announce a new delivery strategy for RealTime
Making the latest functionality and technology of RealTime more available to all clients

Durham, U.K.—January 22, 2008. —Traditionally Indigo’s software release strategy for RealTime has been synchronised with System21’s, that is, to deliver a new release of RealTime at the same time as System21 and with the same version naming convention.
Indigo today announce that RealTime will now be shipped independently of System21 releases, with a new RealTime release delivered annually. The next release of RealTime will be Version 8 which includes new functional enhancements, technology improvements and compliance with System21 at Aurora 2.3.
The primary objective of the new packaging strategy is to ensure that ALL Indigo customers will have access to the latest Version of RealTime and not be locked to the release of RealTime to match the release of System21 installed. This immediately makes available the latest functionality of RealTime to all System21 clients.
Indigo also announce that Version 8 of RealTime will work as standard with the following System21 versions: V3.5.2sp2, V3.5.2sp3, V3.5.2sp4, V3.5.2sp5, Aurora 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. Version 9 of RealTime, scheduled for release in 2009, will also work with all then current releases of System21. V8 will have an OS400 pre-requisite of V5R2M0 or later.
This investment by Indigo will ensure that ALL users of RealTime will be able to take advantage of Indigo’s latest release without the need to upgrade to the latest version/release of System21. For example, a RealTime user at S21 —3.5.2 SP4 will be able to upgrade directly to RealTime Version 8 without any other System21 pre-requisites.

This has locked many clients to old versions of RealTime. With the new packaging strategy, all users of RealTime, regardless of System21 version, will be able to implement the latest version of RealTime as it is available each year”.
