Indigo assist Nifco UK to lift major industry award

Durham, U.K. - July 24, 2008. - Indigo assists Nifco UK to lift major industry award.

24 Jul 2008

For over a decade, Nifco UK, supported by Indigo, has been using System21 as the ERP engine to manage and drive their Customer Service, Manufacturing and Finances. As a leading global automotive injection moulder, Nifco provide products and services to major manufacturers such as Ford Motor Company, Toyota, Honda and Nissan.

In 2006, Nifco upgraded to the new Aurora version of System21 bringing enhanced functionality and streamlined processes. As a result, System21 has provided a solid platform for Nifco’s business processes which has assisted Nifco to lift the prestigious 2008 Plastics Industry award for the Processor of the Year.

Mike Matthews, Nifco’s Managing Director commented: “Nifco has made a significant turnaround in the last 4 years culminating in the Plastics Industry Award of the ‘Processor of the year’. Indigo’s support as a strategic partner, and the re-implementation of System21 Aurora, has played an instrumental role in this recovery. We now look to extend the use of System21 to our other European plants, beginning with Poland.”

Peter McLane, Indigo’s Managing Director comments: “Indigo are very proud to be highlighted as a strong contributor to Nifco’s success and we look forward to extending the success of the systems to new heights of increased efficiency, cost reduction and wider use within the group.”

About Nifco

The Nifco Group supplies products to Japanese automobile and home electronic appliance manufacturers as well as eight foreign automobile manufacturers, including Ford Motor Company, Toyota, Honda and Nissan. As globalization advances, Nifco aims to become a major player in the global economy by setting up operations in the four corners of the world: Japan, Asia, North America and Europe. Nifco fasteners make full use of the superior characteristics of plastic: lightweight, rustproof and highly mouldable. Although small in size, Nifco fasteners have made a major contribution to the automobile and home electronic production processes and brought about a “Fastening Revolution” in Japan.

Nifco was the first company in Japan to adapt a never-before-used material—plastic—for use as fasteners. The company has since developed numerous innovative fasteners such as plastic rivets, screw grommets and weather strip clips.
