Indigo announces a convergence strategy for Standard and Apparel RealTime modules

For over 12 Years Indigo have maintained two discreet versions of the Realtime products to allow the software to work over the Apparel specific and Generic versions of System21.
The growth of the Aurora Apparel (or Style) product and changes to the software architecture within Indigo has allowed this consolidation to take place, providing a single Realtime product capable of being implemented over Generic and Apparel versions of Aurora System21.
Changes made to the Generic Realtime module for System21 have come thick and fast during the previous decade and these enhancements will now all be available to Apparel Customers both existing and prospective.
They will include:
- Order Pool management screens that allow the facility to push orders through the warehouse using picking waves.
- Enhanced assignment and reservation processes that allow work to be reserved to individual resources up front of their availability.
- Enhanced Replenishment tools that allow ad-hoc, triggered or structured replenishments.
- Commit exception processing allowing the use of opportunistic Cross Docking
- Order tracking enquiries and enhanced reporting databases will ensure the most up to date information is available at all times.
Indigo are able to create a single cross vertical module because of the new product architecture. Indigo Software’s Programming Manager, Glenn Melville, commented “Our recent focus in the software delivery team has been on abstracting business logic into reusable modules, allowing us to create new transactions, be they standard or customised, for individual needs in a much more timely fashion.
“The existing RDT Interfaces have been abstracted away from the business logic to give consistent dialog and function to the end user.”
Indigo Software’s Managing Consultant, Eric Carter, stated “Apparel or Style customers are an important part of Indigo’s existing customer base, with many of these being long standing customers of many years.
“Many of the enhancements brought through the product as each new Generic release was made did not make it into the Style derivative. A recent new business win has allowed us to polarise our efforts into bringing the two verticals together into one Indigo RealTime deliverable, enabling the benefits of both modules to be realised. These changes will build on the success of the previous family of robust, secure, modules for System21.”
