It was clear from the outset that Indigo's experience with this type of project would be invaluable. Indigo were never afraid to ‘tell it like it is’ and put as much effort into ensuring that our team was on target as well as their own.

Indigo Software Ltd, the supply chain software specialist, today announced that Regatta the outdoor and leisure wear giant has selected Indigo’s RealTime for Infor ERP System21 warehousing solution, for its existing warehouses located in Manchester (2) Liverpool and Telford

Regatta have been using Infor’s Warehousing module for many years and have over time developed a number of internal radio data terminal (RDT) based processes to cover many of their day to day requirements including stock replenishments, movements, packing etc.

However, it was recognised that a more comprehensive and integrated warehousing system would be needed to provide the responsiveness that would be needed to ensure that orders were being delivered on-time and in full. It was determined that to write a system like this internally would be too time consuming and so it was decided to look for a partner to aid Regatta in their requirements. Indigo, as Infor’s World Wide System21 Warehousing Partner, was the obvious choice to start a dialogue with. Indigo and Regatta conducted a number of assessment of their existing systems and future requirements and concluded that Indigo’s Interactive warehousing would provide an ideal solution for the requirements of the business going forward.

The decision was made to partner with Indigo, and during 2009 RealTime will provide them with the functionality extensions to their existing systems that are required to meet the ever changing delivery profiles. This will also be required to fully integrate with Infor’s ERP Aurora Style variant.

Eric Carter, Managing Consultant at Indigo, commented “This new business win for Indigo is really exciting, Regatta have literally tens of thousands of picking locations located across their four warehouses. The existing paper based picking process will be replaced with an Interactive paperless picking methodology. Regatta have made some significant enhancements’ to standard Infor warehousing module and RealTime will build on this. Regatta’s order process covers many vertical sectors and so the challenges of high street and Internet based Direct to Home deliveries will need to be equally met.”

Tony Oliver, Logistics Director at Regatta, commented “The growth of Regatta and it’s brands Craghoppers, Dare 2b and Hawkshead, has been one of the success stories in the Outdoor Leisure Clothing market, and has cemented our reputation as a market leader in this field. However, this growth has shown the need to utilise the best combination of our existing integrated solutions alongside Indigo’s solutions, to give us the ability to enhance and adapt to our unique, competitive edge, way of working. We see the partnership with Indigo as being critical to maintaining our success going forward.”

Along with the RealTime suite of software Regatta have also purchased Indigo’s newest Perpetual Inventory module. This will allow the stock team to accurately confirm location balances as part of the overall picking process and should ensure the excellent order to despatch process is maintained.
